LanguageCert Academic or General SELT, and LanguageCert International ESOL SELT for speaking and listening.
PSI Skills for English UKVI, in a four-component or a two-component (speaking and listening) version. It is offered outside the UK only.
Booking from outside the UK
Book on the provider's own website, in the name on your passport. GOV.UK says you should be able to sit within 28 days, but not always at the nearest centre, and if your country has no approved centre you will have to travel to another country.
Outside the UK you can also use a valid photo identity card issued by the government of the country you sit the test in.

Can I take the A1 English test for a spouse visa in Pakistan?
Yes. IELTS Life Skills, PTE Home, LanguageCert and PSI Skills for English all have approved centres there; the list dated 9 October 2026 has 66 centres in 14 cities, most in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
How much is IELTS Life Skills in Pakistan?
PKR 53,000 on IDP's Pakistan fee table, read on 12 October 2026. IELTS for UKVI is PKR 78,820.
Is a SELT taken abroad valid for a UK visa?
Yes, if the test is on the approved list for tests outside the UK and you sit it at an approved centre. The result counts for two years.
Can I take Trinity GESE outside the UK?
No. Trinity's SELT tests are approved in the UK only. Outside the UK, PSI's Skills for English is the fourth provider.
