Your Test Report Form
- Online first
- See your result in the Test Taker portal with your ID number and candidate number. It is provisional until the Test Report Form arrives.
- Copies
- One Test Report Form, or 2 if you are applying to IRCC or UKVI.
- Paper or electronic
- Centre tests get a paper form, and some countries now issue an electronic one for computer tests. IELTS Online gets an electronic form.
- Collect or post
- Some centres let you pick it up; ask before results day. Otherwise it is posted.
- Sending it on
- Free by post to 5 organisations, and by e-delivery to any number.
- How long it counts
- Organisations are recommended to accept results for 2 years.

How long do IELTS results take on computer?
1 to 5 days after the test, on ielts.org. IDP India says most of its computer results arrive within 2 days.
What time are IELTS results released?
IELTS publishes no release time. If you booked with the British Council you get an email with a link; if you booked with IDP, the result appears in your IDP account.
How do I check my IELTS results online?
Use the Test Taker portal with your passport or ID number, the same one you registered with, and your candidate number. The online result is provisional; your Test Report Form is the official one.
How many Test Report Forms do I get?
One, or 2 if you are applying to IRCC (Canada) or UKVI (UK). Some centres let you collect it; others post it. In some countries computer tests now get an electronic TRF.
Can I send my results to universities?
Yes. By post to up to 5 organisations free (a fee after that), and by IELTS e-delivery to as many as you like. IELTS Online results go by e-delivery only.
Can I get my IELTS remarked?
Yes, through an Enquiry on Results at your test centre within 6 weeks of your test date. The fee is refunded if your band changes, and the answer can take up to 21 days.
What if my results are late?
Contact your test centre. In rare cases results are held back for security checks.
