Bees on the rooftops

City rooftops have become an unexpected refuge for honeybees. In one European capital, the number of registered hives more than doubled in five years, largely because of enthusiasm among hobbyists and companies keen to appear environmentally friendly.

Ecologists, however, are uneasy. Honeybees compete with wild bees for the same flowers, and a survey of the city's parks found that the supply of nectar-rich plants had not kept pace with the growth in hives. Some researchers now argue that planting flowers would do more for pollinators than adding colonies.

The test in India

IELTS on Computer offers sessions up to 7 days a week, 3 times a day, depending on the centre. Writing on Paper is an option within the computer test: Listening and Reading stay on computer, while you handwrite Writing. Check your IDP centre for available sessions.

Is the course for IELTS Academic or General Training?

Both. Listening and Speaking are the same in each. You pick your version once, and Reading and Writing Task 1 follow it.

Can I pay in rupees?

Yes. ₹5,999, charged in INR by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. You can also pay in pounds on the main pricing page.

Does this book my IELTS test?

No. In India you book IELTS with IDP. This course is the preparation, sold separately.

How does the band 7.5 guarantee work?

If your entry diagnostic was B2 or above, finish the course before IELTS Academic or IELTS General Training (100% course work and 70% right on your latest 100 marked answers). If your official result is below overall 7.5 or any skill is below 7.0, send your official result within 30 days of its release and we refund the price you paid.

What is the difference between IELTS and IELTS for UKVI?

The questions and scoring are the same. IELTS for UKVI is the version on the UK Home Office's approved list, sat at approved centres. In India it costs ₹19,250.
